Anthony Vaccarello matches navy mini skirts with white shirts and red nails at his SS14 show.
If there is a piece that we would like to see more of for, it’s the mini skirt. This very sexy and feminine piece had it’s glory days in the early 2000 and has been in the spotlights a few times after that. For this season Alexander Wang dressed his model on the runway in pleated oxford minis paired with oversized shirts, and Hedi Slimane made his girls wear it too – although in a bit more rockabilly spirit at the Saint Laurent SS14 show. We do love Wang and Slimane, but if there was one designer who nailed the sexy mini skirt it was Anthony Vaccarello. The French designer, who got the fashion crowds respect and love (!) the past years, let his models – as well as his muse Anja Rubik – rock the piece down the catwalk in a true French and sophisticated 80s vibe.
